Scuba Diving is the ultimate escape, the hassle and stress of modern life floats away with your bubbles. Learning to scuba dive is safe, simple and lots of fun. H2O Sportz has a number of courses available including the following.
P.A.D.I. Discover SCUBA Diving Program (one day duration) The P.A.D.I. Discover SCUBA Diving Program
is an ideal safe introduction to scuba diving, which allows absolute beginners to enjoy
the thrill of scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef. The program can be completed in just
one day and consists of a brief introduction to the scuba equipment, and a pool lesson.
After the pool lesson, you will feel confident and eager to explore the coral reefs with
your instructor. The Discover SCUBA Diving Program is conducted daily before the boat
trips, so you can do your training and dives all on the same day. If you have always
wanted to try scuba diving, but have never had the time, the Discover SCUBA Diving Program
could be for you. |

P.A.D.I Openwater Certification Course (4 day duration) The P.A.D.I Openwater Certification Course is your passport to an exciting new world of adventure. The course will teach you the skills to safely and comfortably explore the underwater world. The course involves a three step process. First you will participate in classroom sessions where you will watch audio-visual presentations on topics such as scuba equipment use, the marine environment, dive planning and more. Next you will learn and practice scuba skills in the familiar surrounds of a clear swimming pool. Here you will gain confidence in using the scuba equipment. After your pool training you will be ready for your four Openwater training dives, which are conducted over two days on the trips available. The courses takes four or five days. The days are fairly full, typically from 8.30am to 5.00pm. However, you will be having lots of fun, especially the two days when you will joining the scheduled Scuba and Snorkeling trips and diving on some of the best reef locations. Other members of your family or party who dive or snorkel may wish to join you on these trips.
Price $650 (Includes EMC charges) - includes dive manual, dive tables, log book, all equipment rental, boat trips, 4 ocean dives. You will require a dive medical before starting the course, and 2 passport photos for your certification. You will require an AS 4005.1 diving medical. |

The popular P.A.D.I. Advanced Diver Course will improve your diving skills, and build your diving knowledge and experience. The course takes 3 days, and consists of theory and 5 experience dives. You will practise advanced diving skills in navigation, and deep diving, with a further choice of underwater naturalist, drift diving, boat diving or multi-level diving on the trips available. This is an easy and fun way to become a more proficient diver and allow you to participate in a greater range of diving opportunities. Other members of your family or party who dive or snorkel may wish to join you on these trips. Price $650 (Includes EMC charges) - includes dive manual, log book, all equipment rental, boat trips (with lunch and snacks), 5 ocean dives. You will require 2 passport photos for your certification. |

Home Study option - Dive Today! Complete a majority of your academics before
your Hamilton Island holiday, then participate in pool and open water
dives when you arrive. The home study option allows you to
thoroughly cover course materials at home, while allowing you plenty
of time for other resort activities on your vacation. Your instructor
on Hamilton Island will ensure you are familiar with all the academics
before your pool and ocean dives. Performance and knowledge
requirements are the same as the Open Water course, and you will require

Student Referral Option This is a popular option for those who have
limited time on their Hamilton Island vacation. Complete all
academics and pool diving at your local dive centre, then all you have
left are your four open water dives at the Great
Barrier Reef. Your local dive instructor will provide you with a PADI
Student Referral Form which you need to present to your H2O Sportz dive instructor
on Hamilton
Island. You will require an AS 4005.1 diving medical. Contact us for
